Open Source, Dematerialized, 3D Printed Solar Electric Car

    Engine – 100% electric, in-wheel: possible supplier QS Motor

    Features – Regenerative braking system, regenerative disc brakes.

    Power Train – In-wheel, 2×4 (option: 4×4 version variable), based on OSV Vehicle.

    Transmission – Automatic, single speed.

    Battery pack and BMS – Battery pack modules, from 15 Kwh battery, 100-300 Km range, 5-hour charge time. It is equipped with battery modules placed in 2 to 4 removable and interchangeable compartments, depending on the power installed.

    Body – Direct digital manufactured vehicle (DDMV), carbon fiber reinforced ABS plastic.

    Top Speed – Approx. 100Km/h.

    Led lights – Everywhere is possible.

    Wheels – 15″, OSV Platform. Low rolling resistance tires.

    Safety – The main feature of the vehicle is the 3d-printed tub structure, which is used to protect the occupants, safety cell of ABS plastic and carbon fiber. Additional aluminium frames inserted in the body while printing (the technology to be researched and tested).

    Low center of gravity – The heaviest parts, transmission, battery, will be placed at the lowest level possible, but the ground clearance will be kept over 16 cm.

Dematerialized, 3D Printed, very small number of parts

    I. Idea body shape: 3D printed, modular: compact, small family car, and roadster variable (modular)

    II. Chassis: filled with a battery platform, lowest position, for stability

    III. Materials, easy to 3D print. Materials possible supplier: Somos and/or Sabic
    We will test different types of materials and different blends for additive manufacturing, but for the first model we will use a blend of 80 percent ABS plastic and 20 percent carbon fiber, as it is already experienced by Local Motors in printing their car.
